to TSD @jason koonce I hope you enjoy it here. Some advice for your first razor, go inexpensive, but not cheap. I personally prefer 3 piece razors like the EJ89,vintage, one of the Maggard 3 pieces or a Gillette fat handle tech. I just started using the Maggard slant head and honestly with a little care its a really good razor. Technique, time and patience will get you to stellar close shaves with little to no irritation. I've been "traditional" DE shaving for about 8 years now and irritation, cuts, nicks and razor burn are very much the exception and not the rule. Good luck on your new journey.

Because this is October there are quite a few OC (open comb) razors in play. Since you are new to both TSD and wet shaving when you get that first razor in hand join The 30 Day Rule / Focus Group for help working out the kinks.
