I'm getting 2 shaves a blade. I shave my entire body. I'm using Gillette Silver Blue blades. I have tried several in a sample pack and those were best for me. I have a pack of Feathers coming. Excited to try them.
I didn't think your question was strange. It's cool. It's a shaving question. That's fine with me! Man, I wanna try Polsilvers now!
Blade life will increase as your technique naturally improves over time. It's related to angle and pressure. The difference in quality between those blades is negligible at best.
I've gotta admit I'm up to 4 blades tried so far - Astra SP, Polsilver SI, Gillette 7 O'Clock Yellow and Gillette Nacet, and I'm really struggling to pick a favourite. They all work. And well. Edit: with regard to lifespan, I chuck em all after 3 shaves.
You'll eventually reach a point where blades don't matter much. I personally feel that sampling blades as a newbie is a waste of both time and money. It's akin to a novice golfer sampling club sets without knowing how to hit the ball correctly.
Two shaves per blade is no slouch. Gillette Silver Blues are great blades, but Polsilvers are my favorites. BTW glad to see your still on TSD ... hadn't seen you around; new shaver often give interesting input and ideas.
Yeah I'm finding spending more time with each razor that I can pick favourites, but even then when I have bad shaves I can usually tell you what I did to cause them
