I picked up this razor today at an antique shop for $10. Need help identifying it...
It is in good shape...I have not cleaned it up yet. Will wait until I get home from this road trip.

Nice! I think it's a Gillette Old Type. But the handle looks a bit long to me. The dark bluish tint in on the top of the handle and head make me think it may have been silver plated. Google Mr. Razor and compare his pics.

Could that be an ABC variant? Handle just looks odd, not the regular OT handle?

The closest I could find in Achim's photos is this variant. I might have overlooked another one but this is close.

Any idea what this razor would be made of? Brass? If brass would it be appropriate to use Brasso on it? Wondering how to clean it up and give it a polish...

It is plated brass, but you should use an less caustic polish such as Flitz. Brasso is very harsh and should not be used on plated metals.
