Won this razor on ebay, thinking its a Gold Merkur Futur but the description is waaayyyy off . I did buy a Futur right?

I'd say that's a gold futur and the seller doesn't know what he's talking about.

 

Hope you're right Noob , can't figure someone making a knock off Futur, can't think anyone would go through the trouble.

I have one of those as well. It is a heavy well built razor. It weighs in at 5.3 oz (~150 gr) while the Futur weighs in at 4 oz (122 g).

I think you picked up a clone.

 

You can get it on Amazon for $29.99. Everything looks similar to the Futur except the top cap. I looked at your listing and it says it's been re-listed.

I was bidding on that too thinking the description was wrong. Let us know how it shaves. It might be worth it.

 

It looks like one of the Chinese knock offs to me also. Let us know when you get it. It may be a great shaver.

 

Nope I won't be shaving with it, won't try it.

 

I've heard that it shaves just as well as the Futur. The few people I personally know who have one absolutely stand by it. Since I have a Futur, I think I'll borrow one and give it a shot. That way I'll have a decent comparison.
