OK, @Linuxguile , Here it is; To make your own colognes, you need just a few things.
    Materials
Spray bottle (4 ounce- dark glass or plastic.)
    Funnel
    Measuring cup
    Measuring spoon

    Ingredients
2 Teaspoons skin-safe essential oil or fragrance oil
4 Fluid ounces of Perfumer's alcohol.

Just pour the ingredients into a spray bottle and shake.
I get my bottles at www.specialtybottle.com. You can get plastic or glass, but I prefer glass. Get Amber or blue, because fragrances are light-sensitive.
I get my Perfumer's Alcohol at www.saveonscents.com. Yes, it really does work better than drugstore alcohol.

So glad to post it. Some scents I have used for my husband include bergamot, lemon verbena, bergamot-black pepper blend, cedar wood-blue spruce blend. These are all essential oils. You could also use bay rum, which is a scent a lot of guys like.

I notice that the perfumers alcohol is made up almost entirely of ethanol. have you ever tried everclear or a high proof vodka ?

I haven't. The thing is that the alcohol concentration isn't the only variable. Perfumers alcohol also contains ingredients to slow evaporation of scent and improve its absorption onto your skin.
