A two pass from lather to balm in under 10 min. For BBS, which is a three pass or four pass with cleanup about 20 minutes. When I'm specifically taking time to enjoy it and luxuriate; 30 min +.
It's 12 minutes for me from start to finish for a DE, SE or injector shave. A straight razor shave will take me 20 to 25 minutes.
I agree with your timing. But if I rush I'll invariably get irritation or something else unpleasant. My more efficient razors (Ikon 102, Blackhawk) are good in 2 passes. HERM
Do you time something you enjoy? I suspect all of us would rush, if we could, if it wasn't enjoyable. Why would you want to take less time?
I enjoy everyone of my shaves but I like them as efficient as possible. I like challenges. Fast and furious is fun for me.
When I saw shaving as a chore, I could do it in less than three minutes. Less if I was using one of those women's Venus razors. Now, around 20-25 minutes. I do it in the evening, so I have all the time in the world.
I enjoy shaving these days but I feel silly taking upwards of 25-30 minutes to get a decent shave. It has made me late on many occasions. The funny thing is that sometimes I try to shave earlier in order to avoid being late for anything but then I end up just spending more time shaving, hunting down every single stray whisker.
20-30 minutes for my daily straight razor shave. I could do it in less time but I enjoy it and take my time.
On average I'd say not much more than 10 minutes, maybe 15 if I'm using a straight. Keep in mind that I've got about 9 years of DE/straight razor experience now so YMMV. When I was first learning, and first joined this board, it was 15-20 minutes total.
I take about 15 minutes to do a 3 pass shave . This includes loading my brush, bowl lathering, and cleaning up my tools afterwards.
