I have found that the only test that works for me is a shave test. Maybe someday I'll get to a meet and learn something that will help me learn proper bench tests.

someone who can deal with just about ANY blade issue capably and professionally without guesswork, stemming from expertise gained through years of experience. By this definition, there are very few who would rightfully earn and achieve this distinction.
