I inherited some vintage Gillettes

    Oh, and be careful cleaning them. Use very very mild soap. I ruined two of the above cleaning them and had to send them out for revamping/replating. Don't go for pristine.

    Just curious, but how and with what did you clean them?

    Well, I was trying rubbing alcohol. A bath of it. It was supposed to only be for a minute or two while I watched it but something happened elsewhere that pulled me away and, being the old man that I am,I forgot about it until it was too late. D'oh!

    I wouldn't think rubbing alcohol would have any adverse effect. I guess I won't try it though. :)

    It is apparent that these razors were cared for and respected by the previous owner. It is fortunate that these ended up in your hands. Must of been fate.

    Hot water soak with a little Dawn dish wash liquid, followed by Scrubbing Bubbles, and elbow grease with a toothbrush. They came out clean, shiny, and ready for action! :D
