I took an old tweed coat and cut it into pieces and made this messenger bag. All hand stitched as I don't have a sewing machine heavy enough. Was tired of not having something to carry my kindle and books and other stuff around. Call it a man purse if you must but I don't care, I love it lol And I learned how to do a raised satin embroidery stitch for my initials. TL. I think this is the coolest part, the tag from inside the jacket with the serial number on it.
I'm not sure, it took me a month of work not sure I can do another yet lol. If you look on etsy there's people who make and sell them however. Might be an option for ya. Thanks for the kind words!
Great job. I have an old "Daytimer" case I use for the same thing. My wife hates it when I refer to it as my "man bag"
I love the man bags...I carry a Tumi cross body when I travel or need more pockets. The tweed bag looks super cool! Bag is roughly 14x8x3
Thanks, yeah I made mine roughly 16x12x3. I saw these on Pinterest and etsy and decided to just dive right in and make it. They sell for like 50 to 100 bucks depending on who you get it through. Between all my meds and a everyday carry kit and books I decided it was high time I carried a bag.
Nothing wrong with a man bag. I've used this one for 6-7 months now. They sell brand new for $20-25 on eBay so a pretty good deal. Store photo: My bag:
I cannibalized an old American Tourister leather bag, the strap is nylon webbing with leather on front side. I also used the outside zippered pocket to put on the back of the bag. Worked out well
