I received a MONSTER in the mail

I just edited my review at amazon to include the following:

This review was for the STAINLESS STEEL HEAVY KNURLED RAZOR and NOT the gold one. It has a completely different handle, finish and possibly head. Do not take anything from this review for the Gold version.

NOT happy about using my review for a different item. On the other hand, I ordered the gold one too.

Well, I received my gold utopia in the mail. It had the same packaging, length, and a good heft. When I measured it the weight was a very respectable 111 grams compared to the 117 grams of the first model. I noticed a vast improvement in the blade alignment holes and the screw attaching the head to the handle. Sure they raised the price by five bucks but the 8 sided handle and 6 sided end will work well with my gold razor heads. The base measured just under the size of a dime and is slightly rounded so it doesn't stand as well. All in all not a bad razor for the price.

 

Do they make That in a slant? ? If Merkur calls theirs the sledgehammer then that in a slant would be the Jackhammer! !

 

I have not seen one as of yet.

It seems that way, at least for now. The silver product page now hosts that gold razor. Maybe the silver will find it's way back, maybe it's gone for good. No further info.

There are now FOUR razors available, and Yes, I did buy them all. Two are on order so you get stock pictures. The golds are listed as 24 carat gold plated. And yes, this will be my last utopia post.

 

No, don't make it your last post! We need reviews of the new ones. I kind of like the look of the black handled one.
