A member put up a lady eversharp. Another member said it's a good deal. Hopefully my first shave will be Saturday. I will let you know how it all goes. I am so excited.
Congratulations! Looking forward to hearing about it. There is a shave of the day thread where we usually post a pic of the setup and post how the shave went
Eversharp(Schick) injectors are my fave razor design. If you master that razor, you'll be very happy! Good luck with it!
Your chosen razor design has two intrinsic advantages for your likely usage pattern. First, it features an open blade mount, and does not clog up easily like DE will when shaving large areas of skin at a time, as in leg shaving. Secondly, the injector blades are much thicker than DE blades, and will help to extend the usable life of a blade for you. In my face shaving experience, an injector blade from Schick China lasts 10-12 full face and neck shaves, compared to 6-9 or so from DE. Low angle of attack is a must with these razors, they do carry the "aggressive" label, but don't ever let that word scare you off. Aggressive means "efficient and open" razor. The comfort and safety lie firmly in the techniques. There is a bit of a learning curve, and it's a little different in the hand than a cartridge razor, but you can master the basics rather quickly. Once you "get it", you'll never look back! Also, vintage equipment is just cool stuff!
I thank you for explanation. I am going to start on legs and go slow. Plus I am looking now at making me some shaving soap with natural essential oils. Going to experiment with lathers, softness, and shaves that are enjoyable and work. Another thing Yes love vintage stuff.
It sounds like you're definitely getting a good start! Lather making is a skill unto itself, and something worth practicing on its own. Try to make dense, slick, wet lather that will hold peaks like egg white beaten stiff. This will give you the comfort, skin protection, and razor glide that are essential to make traditional shaving a fun and safe experience.
You think you bought a razor? Either you bought it, or you didn't, I would say Good luck with the razor, and your shaves! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
