    Wow I am blown away.
That Gem 1912 is an amazing looking razor.
If mine shaves any where near in performance as yours look, I am getting mine done.
That thing knocked my socks off.
All the razors look great with some better then new.
    Yours is one of those.

    Razor: Schick J1
    Blade: Personna
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free
    Post: Alum, Listerine, WH

Since two new to me Injectors arrived today (actually, yesterday but they weren't in my hand until a little while ago), I figured I'd take a diversion with my favorite Injector- the Schick J1. No issues, just an easy DFS.

The next few shaves should be interesting, though. The two new razors are an E2 and a G1. I've never used an E before and my first experiences with a G1 were okay, but not totally to my liking. I ended up trading that G1 and a sample of Cella to @RyX for a Fatboy. So, now I get to see how I feel about the even more aggressive E and whether my tastes have changed enough to now appreciate the G.

I have both modern Personna and Chick blades. Any recommendations?

Solid shave from the Shovelhead with (2010) Blue Star. But although I've gotten some of my best face shaves from this combo,, as frequently happens, starting with my head shave the blade ran out of steam before I could get to BBS on the beard. Finished up the beard and did some touch ups on my head with the Rockwell-6. I have to admit the tale off the touch ups, Rockwell shaves closer on my head, at least this day.

Another nice thing about the 1912, should you find the short handle not to your liking or simply desire a change of pace, a 10/32 set screw is all you need to swap most any modern handle you choose.[IMG]

I found myself a 1914 and took it for a run today. As you can see it is a travel set with a short very smooth handle, there is the potential for some slippage but no problems today.
Great razor which gave a very efficient shave, I took it nice and slowly and I'm very happy with the results. Very glad to have it!

Have a great day, enjoy your shaves

Just for the record that beauty is not just a 1912. That is an open comb Damaskeene model. They are a step above in most books. The 1912 in any form is outstanding though.!!

    Razor: Schick E2
    Blade: Personna (1)
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft 22
    Cream: KMF fragrance-free

Today was my first shave with a Schick E-series Injector. Throwing a bit of caution to the wind, I went with my favorite blades a Personna. To be honest, I was a bit intimidated going into this shave; I'm tend toward milder razors and had always heard how "aggressive" the E-series were. In actuality, I had no issues with the razor of the shave. I will agree that the E2 is very "efficient" with more blade feel than, say, my J1. I might go so far as to say that the feel is in a fuzzy area between Injector and more traditional SE razors such as the Gem 1912.

Let's just call the result a BBS and be done.

I'd go with the Schick for the E2 and would have put the Personna in the G. I find the Personnas amp up the milder Schicks a bit. :happy088:

Nice shave with the Black Hawk. Haven't used it in quite a while. Had two days of growth to mow down and it was certainly up to the task. Very enjoyable results.

    Have a great day!
