It's Williams Wednesday! Today's shave was better than yesterday's. It was smooth and effortless. The only thing missing now is the closeness.

I did a three pass shave this morning. I noticed that the shave was smoother and easier than the previous two. I had almost no feedback from the alum block. Finished off with some Stetson AS. Two and half hours later I am smooth but not dolphin skin smooth. Final opinion on the shave would be DFS and would be happy with the shave on any given day.

On a side note. I was setting up today's shave last night when I started thinking about what blades would fit this razor. An injector blade would fit and once you had it all closed up the blade stays in place without any visible movement. Also a de-spined SE blade would fit with some modifications made to the razor (file down the studs in blade housing). The other thing I noticed was the blade was starting to rust where I had to remove some of the metal to get the blade to set properly. The rust is not near the edge of the blade so it doesn't affect the performance of the blade. It will have to be watched though as it will affect the life of the blade.

L1 injector this morning for a smooth shave. It's certainly mild but works quite well for my 24 hour beard growth. No complaints!

    Have a great day!

It is like PAA pre shave lather booster soaps as well as Musgo Real Glyce - but this seems to be much slicker and added post shave goodness - very good price and the mentholated one has a nice chill

A change of blade has refreshed the General, must learn not to go for optimum as performance may then
    disappoint .

Yes, but not too sure whether or not to go for more or have a change. Others are running down too ,so will need to decide which ones I really need.

This photo is for all the nature lovers

Last week I ordered the Wife some soap and lip balm from Stirling. I sneaked in an Alum block and a 1oz Sample puck of Port-Au-Prince in the order for myself. Is that wrong? I purchased the PAP because it is a mutton tallow soap. I had a tub of Electric Sheep that I gave away to a co-worker. It was the slickest lather I have ever used. I believed the slickness was in part due to the fact that it was a mutton tallow soap. When talking about slickness, I now compare all others to the Sheep.

This mornings shave I did a little differently. Instead of long strokes with the razor I did little short stokes. I don't know if it was the short strokes, my technique or the blade has finally settled down but I got a DFS out of it this morning. A little closer than yesterday. Finished it all off with a splash of Clubman and I'm ready for another day at the office.

Yesterday I posted what blades I can make fit in the razor with and with out modifying the razor. Someone asked how an injector blade would fit as it is not as wide/tall as a typical SE blade. I will take photos of what I was talking about and post them tomorrow.

The Pushbutton really behaved this morning. Smooth ride! I think my technique with these GEM razors is improving. They can easily provide smooth and comfortable shaves with little effort.

    Enjoy your day!

Moonrise over the Au Sable Dunes on Lake Superior

I spent four days in the woods in the Upper Peninsula along Lake Superior. With a day’s head start and a day delay I had a nice 6 day beard going. I have my Torrey with me and planned to shave with that. Nope. For some reason, me and Torrey’s just do not get along well. With less than half a pass done I switched to the Nordic Beauty. A fantastic, stellar shave. The whisker’s fell like magic for a super close, super smooth shave. :happy036:

    Alu General/Windrose handle & Feather Pro [ 2 ]

A follow up to a shave to one with the Alu. Hawk. With both razors I use a S/S handle,as I find the extra weight works for me. I find there is not a significant difference to the quality of shave I achieve with either Razor, though the General may be easier when working ATG.
