Changed the handle on the ES Claymore V1 for a slightly lighter Windrose one. Think it was a good move as shave
superbly. This is a very underrated Razor possibly due to small production runs, and an unwillingness to accept
that good razors can be made in UK. Though perhaps it is a bit chunky compared with others.

    Prep: Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick E2 injector
    Brush: JR #60 synthetic
    Lather: Arko shave stick
Post: Witch hazel, TSD Iced Yin Yang aftershave
    WTG, touch up

Schick E2 today to mow down two days of growth. It's so efficient and has a different feel than any other injector I have. Really smooth but you have to watch the pressure quite carefully. Nice results.

    Have a great day!

This mornings shave was a tribute to the Jim. The maker of fine shaving brushes.

I bought some Veg to try. As it's supposed to be a lilac scent I paired it up with the MW Lilac. The JR #180 whipped up a very good lather with the MW. I stropped the blade ten times before the shave and then did a three passes with it. When I was about to lather up for the third pass I knocked the brush into a sink full of water. The lather was a little thin on that pass but was still able to get a nice lather out of it. Finished off the shave with the Alum block and then the Veg. It was another fantastic shave with the blade. It was a little rough on my neck as the alum was talking when applied there but I think it was me and not the blade.

Stropped the blade fifteen more times on the strop before hanging it back up for tomorrow.

Nice two pass evening shave with a fresh feather pro, DFS result. This aftershave has so much menthol in it that it makes my eyes water!

Today I revisited the Supply V1- SE,and gave the Personna blade another chance. So far my use of the Supply SE has resulted in mixed views. I have tried the different plates, and after finding a decent cutting angle on Plate 3, find that with a Proline blade I can with a lot of polishing up work get a reasonable finish. Suspect It is my beard that
is the stumbling block as the Razor seems too mild for me.

Today really tried to get the angle right to do justice to the blade. I actually found that it seemed to work quite well
with the Cream I was using, and again by working the Razor hard managed to get a reasonable finish. Am convinced that this Razor will go down really well with those with lighter beard growth than mine.

J1 injector today. Mild and smooth which worked great for less than a day's growth. Smooth and comfortable. Can't ask for much more than that!

    Enjoy your day!

Whatever you do don't drop and E or a G into an ultrasonic cleaner, I had one in perfectly good shape come out with a shattered handle before. Also I think prolonged exposure to hot water can cause the handle to swell and split.

    I'll echo this, too.

Had a beautiful G that needed just a bit of clean up. One round in the ultrasonic and the handle got very soft and could be scraped off with a fingernail.

Fortunately, was able to use the head on an available bakelite handle I had, but not how I would've chosen to go.

I ruined my dads razor because I did not know you could not put a Schick G into a ultrasonic cleaner.
It still will shave but it will never be the same.
I now have it sitting in a special spot of reverence where I can look at it but not touch.
The memories of my childhood in the fifties come back to me but the razor will never be the same.
Oh and dropping it in the shower... well lets say that didn't help any either.

    Tues 17th October
    Vulfix 404 mixed
    Cyril Salter solid soap
    ATT SE1 /Windrose Handle
    Schick Proline [ 5 ]
    Alum Rub/Rinse off
    Pitralon Polar A/S lotion

Have just passed on my Brass General, well I did not like the stock handle and to be honest I enjoy using this Razor
far more, and the shaves are good too.
An excellent choice of soap today, really allows the ATT to be used with a light touch to get the closest of finishes,
and works so easily ATG and around the neck. I do not see the need to chase any more S/S [AC type] Razors, a Gem one I would like to try at some point.

Todays shave was another good shave from the blade. I stropped the blade fifteen times before shaving. Paid special attention to what I was doing when shaving and did it in two passes. Not BBS, but I wasn't looking for BBS today, all I was looking for was DFS and that's what I got.

Today was more about the Veg then anything. I got this bottle last week to try it out and that is what I am doing. I am trying it out with different soap combinations to try and find one that might work for me. I have heard others say that the Veg chooses the person not the person chooses the Veg. I'm afraid that I may not be in the chosen camp on this one, but the search continues for the camp ground.

I stropped the blade another fifteen times before hanging the razor up for tomorrows shave.

The 1912 wasn't quite as smooth today as other times. I started a new blade so that may have factored in to that experience. Still worked okay and ended with good results. Just a little redness on my neck that has since cleared up and one little weeper. No big deal in the long run.

    Have a great day!

Maybe takes bit longer to Shave using the Kai blade rather than the favoured Pro or Proline, but the Combo is very forgiving, and suit those with sensitive skin. Achieved superb results on the neck and jawline, probably the best ever!

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #227 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the AutoStrop VB1 razor and Feather SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Pinaud Vanilla AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I1 injector today. Always smooth! I really enjoy the I1. It seems to shave similarly to the G8 for me, but all of the ones I own are smooth and easy to use. Always a pleasure. Have a great day!
