Another great 2 pass DFS, breaking in a new brush that will end up in a starter kit or some other pif. It really has only one redeeming quality, it was $3 on black Friday.

I returned to the Sabre V1 after a few days on Vintage. There is no doubt that it is very comfortable during a shave, but having finished the Shave, though it was of an acceptable standard it was not as close as recent Shaves with my Vintage Razors. I am sure if I had spent a lot more time on polishing up work, I could have got a closer finish. But when I did that last time the Shave Time seemed too long.

I had to look back to figure out when the last time I had used this blade and razor. I had to go back to the end of September. A two pass shave left me with a very good DSF.

12/7/17 - My Shave Last Night. Used the SCHICK Injector Type L7 "Championship". Vintage Personna 74 blade on 3rd shave. No brainer shave - just EZ, smooth and comfortable - 3 pass + neck pick up bbs. The type L is mild, but with a samauri sword vintage blade like the Tungsten Steel - you still feel that blade.

Looks like this unique prototype has been receiving some decent "facetime"....Which leads me to believe, that it is taking good care of you...Am I right in this assertion?

 

Absolutely! Its a smooth little shaver. I believe the head is very similar to that of an early E.

 

Great SOTD today.



I'm loving the the Borealis and Extro Freddo ASB, both of which I used for the first time today. The scent of the Borealis is sublime (although it could be a tad stronger) and the Extro was impressive. It started off with more of a Eucalyptus scent which died down over time as the Menthol scent came to the fore. A little goes a long way and it absorbed into the skin very quickly. It's a definite winner for me.

I also tried the Obsidian Solid Cologne for the first time as well. I'm generally not a user of Cologne or EDT and quite enjoyed using it although I'm not quite sure how much it added to the overall result if the truth be told.

I'm also really enjoying the M7 Manchurian, ATT G1 and the Meissner Lime Pre-Shave Oil that I got recently (the M7 being a birthday present). They really hit the spot this evening and are top notch products in themselves.

Well what a difference to yesterday,when I shaved with a Sabre V1. The Shave was smooth and comfortable again, but I never get such a close finish as I do with the Vintage SEs I have also been using. I am very pleased to have had the loan of the Razor, but have decided that while it may suit those with a lighter beard it is not for me.

Today used the ATT SE1, and it was a complete contrast as the blade feel was just right, enabling one to assess the progress of the Shave. I was able to use it with absolute precision to get an ultra close all finish , attained smoothly and comfortably. Look forward to trying out the ATT/ Gem Razor in the near future.

I got such a good shave yesterday I used the same razor again today. Did another two pass shave and in return I got another DFS. The picture shows the extent of the snow we got here in Southern Maryland. The weather forecasters were predicting 2 - 8 inches. We got no snow on the roads and a trace on grassy areas. The photo is the railing on my back deck.
