I’ve noticed that too, especially when going ATG.

EPIC SHAVE tonight with this setup.
Razor: Gem Minute Man 1912 with squat head.
    Blade: New Gem Carbon
    Soap: Williams
    Brush: JR 250
    AS: Aqua Velva Ice Blue.

Tonight was one of those unforgettable shaves. I decided to bloom the puck while I showered. Tossing the water out of the soap. I dipped the synthetic brush in the water, and gave it 3 good shakes. Loading the brush for about 20 seconds. I wet my face down and began lathering.

I find that the new Williams is not a lather monster soap. But by golly it is some slick stuff.

Starting my first pass, I actually stopped on the second stroke to see if I for got the Blade. It was cutting that smooth. Inspecting the first pass, I knew that a shave to remember was at hand.

Finishing my other 2 passes. I rinsed off and did my Aluminum block. No feedback at all. Rinsed off again and applied the nice cooling AV.

I find the 1912 with the squat heads shave REALLY nice.

Have a great rest of the week.
    Tom

A change from the original handle works well for me. A really smooth comfortable Shave, with an excellent all round close finish. No need to seek out any more SE/AC razors, in fact should really get rid of some !

I really am liking this 1924 Shovelhead. A two pass shave left me with a hair or two short of a BBS shave. The CF and Veg are working great together to provide a great scent for the day.

    Brush: Surrey badger
Lather: Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum

Smooth and comfortable. I love the mild nature of the J1, especially after a slightly rough shave yesterday. Terrific results. Have a great day!

The SE PARTY CONTINUES!! We are 59 pages away from 1000.
We should do something once this Thread reaches a Thousand pages? Maybe a special TSD soap just for the 1000 page? Let's face it TSD and TOST are the best Single EDGE forums in the entire "Inter Webs"... anyhow - i finally scored a DAMASKEENE - I always figured it was just another 1912 - I was wrong, this has a different feel to it - to early for me to rate it, but it was a 3 pass + pickus BBS .

    Peace out - jamie

    Jim99 Gold Water Shaver

I finally cleaned up my recently acquired Schick 500 and took it for a spin for the first time.

This is a mild razor, maybe like a Schick adjustable set on 3, yet it’s very efficient. The handle of this razor is lond and dwarfs all of my other razors. Despite the handle length, I had no issues and it didn’t hinder the shave in any way. I flew through the first pass without even realizing it as this razor takes no effort. I did a second pass ATG and slowed it up. I tried the “hydro-magic” lever in the middle of the shave even though there was no clogging of the blade. It’s definitely a nice feature. I had no nicks or cuts and the shave was smooth and comfortable from start to finish.

I did get a solid DFS from this razor and I’m pleased enough with I that I plan on using it again next week.

I wonder if Polished versions of Razors shave better than the satin Versions. I had a seemingly better Shave today a Mongoose B3 [polished] than with the Satin version. A bit of a dilemma as I was going to move one on, now not sure which one?

@Jim99 what do you think of the Stirling Christmas Eve soap?

I got a balm sample with a recent order and it smells WONDERFUL (especially for this time of year).
