Despite my tough beard I am still getting really smooth comfortable Shaves From this Combo. I have read of Shavers getting many Shaves from this blade, and now am minded to see just how far I can go with it to determine its useful
longevity. I have used this blade before, but in this Razor its performance is amazing.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shave Soap face-lathered well with the JR #206 2-band Badger brush. I did two passes with the Schick H Razor with a Schick Twin blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

That is ine fine looking razor. I made a video with a baton handle 1912 the other day. Was not as good looking as that though.
How do you like those blades?

I'm curious about those CVS blades, too.

Saw them on a recent stop at CVS and initially assumed them to be rebranded Dorcos from South Korea. Nope, spotted "Blades Made in USA" on the back. Carbon ASRs?

It was not that good looking when i got it, i cleaned it up using a Cape Cod polishing cloth to make it look pretty close to new :happy088:

ASR is now owned by a company called AccuTec if I have it right. They are very good Carbon Steel blades. I found them a little cheaper at Rite Aid.

I need to do that to a few of my razors.

I'm going to Rite Aid tomorrow. I've got the Gem Personna SE SS blades. Are the carbon blades that much better?.

    wchnu Duck Season!

I think so. I find them smoother from the start. There is extra maintenance because they need to be dried after use to stop rust. I just use CS blades. I have some GEM coated blades that are just sitting around. I will be veddy interested in what you think about them.

I always dry my blades after I shave. It's good to hear the carbon blades are smooth on the first shave. Gem SS blades are smooth on the 3rd shave for me. I'll let you know what I think of the Carbon blades Fuzzy.
