I began a focus last month that involved using a Schick G1 injector and a GEM Featherweight. I added a GEM MMOC to the mix late last month. I continued that focus this month with much enjoyment. After great shave after great shave I have come to realize that injectors and SEs are now my preferred razors. I get closer, more comfortable shaves with those than I do with a DE razor. As always, YMMV. My mileage has trended towards these single blade razors and I only want to use them. That's says a lot! I am still relatively new to this wild world of wet shaving and therefore haven't built up much equipment. However, I have three DE razors that I will be putting up in a PIF soon. I am away on a trip at the moment but will put them up as a PIF when I return. I will keep my first DE and a Maggard razor that I enjoyed and therefore won't totally rid myself of their presence. I will occasionally use a DE but injectors and SEs will be my primary razors. It's funny how we all have our preferences and our likes and dislikes change with time. I never thought SEs would win me over, but alas, here we are! Now I just have to restrain myself and not go crazy looking for new injectors and SEs on the bay!
Welcome. Looking forward to seeing you on the SE And injector thread. Don't worry, we will not pressure you to get anymore razors Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Perry, I've had several Gems in my rotation for the last 6 months and find them to be my preferred razor. There's something about them that I find fascinating and I get great shaves all the time. They're quite simple to use and seem to be more predictable than DE razors. I only recently acquired my first injector razor and then quickly another. I really like the simplicity and the quality of the shaves out of these babies! To top it all off, I use an SR on the weekends and really love using them too! If I had started wetshaving with SE SR and injector razors, I might not have ever bought a DE and I don't think I'd be missing a thing!
SE's and injectors are dreamy, I'm shaving with my GEM G-Bar tomorrow. Hopping the SE train Jim!.......
Get your yourself the basics SE razors....... Schick type A,B1, B2,C1,C2,C3,D,E1,F,G, a couple Pal, Gem, Rolls, and other vintage razors that suit your fancy. Maybe a few of the new SE razors (Mongoose, Cobra, Bunny etc) and you're set. Just don't get carried away like some of them other guys......... Feel free to dream of finding a Schick type O or stirling silver B3 in the wild...
I've been on there since the beginning of May with my SOTD posts and a few questions. Looking forward to more participation in that thread!
Roby, I used my G bar this morning and got a fantastic shave, dolphin smooth as you and @Billyfergie say all the time. Man, what a way to start a day! I'm riding that train!
I'm also coming to the same conclusion although I'm only a few shaves into injectors. The shaves the Bunny is giving me are consistently the best of my wet shaving journey. I'm looking forward to trying more of them.
