Stands are not necessary so it's your choice. I do not use a stand.

I've never seen a puddle of water under any one of my brushes. So no.

Brush stander-upper here. Not that I think it makes any difference, it's just that all my brushes have flat bottoms and stands merely add to the clutter for me.

I do think stands can look quite nice for display or SOTD pics.

    Den bling.

I just stand mine, bristles up, on their bases. I squinch 'em good first with a towel to dry 'em out best I can, but they dry pretty quick. I've noticed no ill effects.

What used to be called "Yard of beer" and "Foot of Beer". Long glasses with a bulb at the bottom. What was exciting was raising it so gradually that you got a stream of beer from the bulb and not a torrent.

The trick is to spin the glass while you're drinking.

Pauwel Kwak glasses are traditionally used for Pauwel Kwak beer of course. A lovely and rather strong beer.

After I shake out the excess water, I put a towel on my palm and do a circular motion like when lathering. It takes out more water then I put it on it's base. Dries quick enough that way.

I do a really good job drying my brushes I spend around 10 minutes drying them so do I still need a stand?

After a good rinse, I squeeze my brush and then paint it "dry" on a towel. I always just stand my brushes to dry.
    Stand unnecessary.

No. As others have alluded to, even if you spend only a minute and a half drying your brush, you do not NEED a stand.
Do you want a stand? Get a stand. It's your brush. Store it how you want.

I meant using the brush on the towel in a back and forth motion to dry it off
