Is it wrong to run razor across face with cream or soap without hair on face?

I am just wondering if it's wrong to run razor across face with cream or soap without hair on face? I would like to do that just to practice my technique to get even better at it.

 

Other than the probability of irritating your skin, there's nothing wrong with it. You certainly won't harm the razor or blade in any way.

 

I can't think of any other way to practice my technique.

 

I wouldn't. As @richgem said, you run a great risk of irritation.

Not wrong, will irritate you badly.

 

I wouldn't worry about practicing. Just shave every day. That's all the practice you'll need.

 

If your skin is easily irritated I wouldn't do it.

 

It's shaving, not choreography ... don't overthink it. Just shave when needed; you'll get experience soon enough.

I can think of better things to do with my free time. A daily shave will give you all of the practice you need.

 

Take the blade out and practices..
When I played baseball I would practices my wind-up without actually throwing the ball.

 

The problem with that is if he is practicing bad technique, he'll never know it until he gets the blade on his face.
Consequences may not be good.
