Is this a Fat Handle Tech? Or something else?

Not yet -- I think it's on deck for tomorrow. Today was a time crunch... so went with the razor I had loaded and ready to go (the new Merkur 34C). Tomorrow I'll have more time to learn how the fat lady works.

I got one of those over the weekend for $7.50. I haven't cleaned it up yet. Did you ever end up shaving with yours?

    Here's mine:

Since this isn't with any date codes, does that mean it's circa 1946-1950?

Clean that baby up and shave with it. They are great shavers. Good catch. This one looks like it is probably mid to late 40s.

Yes, 1946-1950. Because it has oval slots in the baseplate, and no date code.

I've shaved a couple of times with my techs... I've got 2 pre-war FHT's that have lost most of their plating, and 2 gold FHT's in decent condition. Plus a Canadian nickel version. All of them give a very good shave... Not as close, IMHO, as a 40's Super Speed, but a better shave than the more common ball-end techs.

    Enjoy! Nice score.
