Nah. I have decided I don’t prefer to use straights when I am on the road.

We gotta give that award to @mr chick.

No such thing as too much information. Only lack of comprehension.

I might just do that thanks! Also I wanted to update the Clubman experience 2 things
    1. It was the powdery dry down that turned me off last time but I’m starting to like that scent a little more
    2. The post shave on this stuff is awesome.

The 30DC LE brushes that Jason sent out as complete brushes were all fitted with either APShaveCo Tuxedo or Cashmere 24mm knots. You might want to revisit @RyX's collage of the 30DC LE brushes at the end of the December thread.

According to the APShaveCo website, the Cashmere fibres are slightly finer than those of the Tuxedo. Which fits with my feeling that the Cashmere is slightly softer than the Tuxedo while still having good backbone. The Plissoft knots (I have some from Maggards) strike me as a slightly "stickier" synthetic than the Tuxedo or Cashmere, if that makes sense. They are good but I don’t like them quite as much.

My 30DC LE Maple Cashmere is probably my most used synthetic, although my Simpsons CH2 Synthetic is creeping up on it.

This is my 30DC LE Maple Cashmere in company with a Cypress fitted with a Maggards 24mm two - band badger and an Alluminati brush with an Envy White badger:

Tuesday evening January 23 - Jeeves and Jayaruh January

Gem 1912 with Jayaruh handle / Gem PTFE ( 2)
Semogue Owners Club cherrywood boar brush
    Jeeves Cherry Blossom soap
Alum and Thayers Witch Hazel Rose Petal and Jeeves Cherry Blossom splash

    IMG_00000118.jpg

On the first pass, I shaved the first half of my face using the original metal handle, then switched to @Jayaruh's wood handle for the rest of the pass. The wood handle is lighter, which changes the balance of the razor. More important, the wood handle's better ergonomic shape made the razor much easier to manipulate, especially when holding it upside down to shave my neck ATG.

Two passes to a good DFS with no complaints from the alum. Even though I can get a good result though, I find I prefer either an injector or a DE to the Gem SEs.

Similarly, while the Semogue delivered a decent lather while face lathering for both passes, I think I prefer either a synthetic or a badger to the boar. Nothing wrong with the boar brush or how it performs for me, just a personal preference.

Hope everyone is having a good week.
