Hi... Total newbie here. I bought my husband a new Merkur for christmas and ordered myself a blue star lady gillette off ebay (which i'm still waiting for). In the meantime I am using a wilkinson sword DE cheapy (and getting much better shaves than the pink Quattro I was using before). Thanks for the newbie giveaway opportunity... what a great idea. Hola... newbie to this site, though I've been using a DE for about 6 years. The more I lurk around this site, the more I realize I have a LOT to learn! In my laziness I had reverted to the dreaded canned shaving foam and cheapo blades from Walgreens (which I actually prefer over the Merkurs I started with). But stumbling onto this site earlier today already led me to dig out all my old good stuff (Trumper badger brush; L'Occitane Cade, Trumper Rose, Kiehls, Pre De Provence creams; genuine '50s Old Spice mug) and I already used my introductory coupon for some aftershave and a sampling of new blades. Lookin forward to fully exploring this site... and I'd love to win one of these packages!

What an amazing way to be welcomed to a forum! I am definitely interested in this contest. With the gift of a new Merkur for the holidays, my 30 minutes in the AM while SWMBO sleeps has become increasingly better. I am interested in learning more about this (lost?) art, and other ways I can improve my new skills. As far as other interests, I work in software development and am of course enamored by the field, as well as gadgets of all shapes and sizes. I think being surrounded by so much technology all day is one of the reasons I really enjoy my new wet shave in the morning: A simple, low tech, peaceful, contemplative way to start a day.

Hi all New member here too! I have started wet shaving about 3 weeks ago and since then I am convinced that it is a fast spreading desease (in a good sense of course!). I have never thought before that I would actually be looking forward to shaving every morning, but I trully do now! I too would like to enter in this drawing as well. My main reason for switching to DE is to try to cut down or eliminate the razor burn that i receive after every shave on my neck. Plus doing something your grandfather and great grandfather did is an added bonus to it. Seems like practicing this lost art as someone said would make you have a closer connection to them as well as the past. I have not yet had a DE shave as my 50s SS is on its way to me now, but i have already learned so much from everyone here at TSD!!!
Second week of real shaving From Atlanta. My brother got me started wet shaving with an old Gillette razor about two weeks ago. Love it. Still getting use to it. Lots of fun!
