The Napa Soap company has a brush with what has been confirmed to be a Mühle Black Fiber knot. This brush was at a very reasonable price at the time of purchase. After getting a couple of these brushes, I decided to take the knot out of the handle and place it in a vintage red and white handle with no makers name on it. Since I have extracted knots from Mühle brushes before I knew that there would be a hard and long glue plug that would eliminate the steam removal process. So I cut the knot out of the handle using a Dremel tool and cutter wheel. Even with that it took a long time and a couple of hardened cutter wheels to get the knot out since the handle is made of hard pressed wood over resin. The only reason I decided to go this way is due to the cost structure of the original handle with the Mühle knot. This made the extra effort on this project very worthwhile. With that being said here is the finished product. Thanks for viewing.
Damn that looks nice! =) I haven't tried the know but a few have said its good, I believe them. That soap gave me to much irritation though =P
The Mühle Black Fiber knot works as well as expected, which is excellent. I prefer this over the Plisson knot in terms of overall usage.
