Just completed and honed this one last evening. Flora Works Cutlery Co., 5/8. Scales are vulcanized rubber. Restoration was fairly light. Some tarnish to the blade, and the only active rust was at the pivot point. Someone had tried their best to scratch something all over one side of the scales. I sanded them down as far as I dared and got rid of 99% of them. Honed 1k/3k/6k/8k, Escher, Arkansas Black.
Shave was very good. The Escher/Black Ark finish combination is one you should try, if you get the chance. Really smooth, face friendly edge. Definitely very sharp, but it makes me think it would be hard to cut myself, if you know what I mean. And I have only been using the Arkansas for three weeks or so. Can't imagine what an edge will be like with this combo six months from now. Very nice.
