Well, we've got Breakfast and Dinner, so I figured why not Lunch! I'll start... Cuban sandwich from the Grill in the Caf. Got addicted to these down in FL. Little Havana in Miami back about 1986-87 to be exact. When I was working and had to go to court or visit my folks I'd slide up to Union City to one of the many Cuban restaurants there for my fix.
I learned a loooooong time ago to never have pasta for lunch. An hour and a half to two hours later I'm fighting to keep my eyes open!
Ramen (not Top with morels, black trumpets, procinis, chanterelles, and boletes with a side of pineapple, mango, peach and strawberries. @RetLEO-07 that Cuban looks like things food dreams are made of.
Today, I had sautéed field greens (saag) , chicken in masala sauce (Tikka Masala), lentils (Dal) and saffron rice, a salt Lassi (yogurt drink), and some keer (sweet loose milk/rice pudding). I am lucky to have a nice Nepalese community and restaurant in my area. It's virtually identical to the moghul foods made by Sikhs in Northern India that Americans and Europeans may be familiar with. Things like tandoori dishes and biryani are also a treat at this place. I go once or twice a week. It's a really nutritious and filling meal. Only $9 if water is the beverage choice.
I learned a long time ago ... not to have refried beans with onions and hard boiled eggs for lunch prior to an office meeting. It wasn't a long meeting.
Very pedestrian lunch today compared to yesterday. Bologna on pumpernickel, a bottle of water and a bag of barbecue chips(a weakness of mine)
Yessir.... from the menu.... chicken & veggie dashi, togarashi dusted fried chicken, pickled jalapenos, sriracha aioli, 60-min egg
