Menthol L, Menthol D, or a mix of the two?

    "A mixture of the two variants, known as DL-menthol, is required mainly for products in which the cooling effect is not predominant, for example in certain flavoring ingredients."

    The combination of D and L menthol provides a slightly minty flavor that the grill sauce makers can use to balance other flavors and spices in the sauce.
