If you ever run across a Fatip, you may want to give it a try. It's an aggressive OC shaver.

Thank you for advice. I had assumed that, but needed confirmation.

As for an OC being more aggressive than a straight bar, it all depends on the razor. I have some OC razors that are milder than straight bars. It's just a different style of razor and may be milder or more aggressive than the next razor, depending on what that razor is.

The isntant assumption that an OC is more aggressive is a myth. There. I said it.

    Neolithium I am Canadian, eh

She's a beautiful razor. I was looking at that but I'm more considering the R41 as my next purchase. Though there was another Merkur OC that I can't remember which may be decent as well...the better I get with technique the less aggressive I find every razor I have.

regarding O.C's v non O.C's, I meant to say that all things being equal, the OC will be more aggressive then a non OC. But razor to razor it depends, like my closed comb slant is more aggressive then my O.C

I like the look of it! That OC gives it a certain look...

I appreciate the honesty. Obviously everyone's shave routine, choice of razor, and other human factors will effect the outcome. As a newbie, I'm always looking for the "answers"...but as in life, every experience is subjective.

Actually that's what many of here find the fun in - the hunt for the elusive "perfect combination" of razor, blade, brush and soap.
Hope you enjoy the hunt, as well, and find your "perfect combo." :eatdrink047:
