Merkur HD Slant vs. Merkur 38C "Barber Pole"

Hey everyone.

Just a quick question. Based on these two razors (Merkur HD Slant / 38C Barber pole), which one is most preferable? I've heard good things about both, but am curious to see which one people prefer.

 

I have the regular HD and the Barber Pole Slant. Sort of the opposite of what you are deciding.

If you already have a DE but don't own a slant, I would get the slant.

If this is your very first DE, I would stick with a regular HD. If you are a little more adventuresome then the Barber Pole might be good.

 

I have the combination you're talking about.

I find that the 38C gives me an easier shave compared to the regular 34C. However, with the 37C, all I get is a lot of irritation.

 

Interesting. At the moment I've got a Lord Tech and a Merkur 34c. We'll see what happens.

 

The HD makes the best fishing weight,..

Just ordered the Barber Pole, I figured the Slant was a bit aggressive.

 

The only practical solution is to get both.

Thanks for the info, I've been looking into getting a 38c.

 

I have the 38C and found it a little aggressive when I first began using it but now that I've had time to perfect my technique using a Gillette Super Speed, its much more enjoyable.
