I busted out my wool fat today. It was one of the first soaps I purchased. I didn't remember it being so thirsty. It seemed like it took a lot of water to get it going but once I found the sweet spot it lathered right up. Very thick and rich nice and slick. Great soap provides everything needed for a great shave.
I really like Mitchell’s. I tried something with my last puck- I filled the dish with water for 2 days, drained the water but not the oil(lanolin I assume) and let it re-solidify for a week. It was supposed to make the fat less thirsty. Maybe it helped a little, I can’t be sure. I can get rich lathers from it quickly, but that may just be because I’ve dialed it in by now.
Love the MWF. One of my top soaps. It is one that I have used up and replaced, and would replace again.
The Fat was the second soap I bought when starting the wet shaving gig. I’m still on my first puck because I’m using so many other soaps in my rotation. But I’ve still stocked up on a few more pucks just to ensure a prosperous future.
