That bottom is came out freaking awesome! I don’t know why but out of all the repairs you’ve done this one impressed me quite a bit. It looks factory made that way.

Well I finished the Erskine ...

I decided on the 22mm Maggard's synthetic knot that fit nicely with only a small amount of sanding inside it's receiver. I re-lettered it in yellow by the advice of SWMBO.

And as always ... more to come! :D

I got this very messed up brush in an order last week and decided to give it a little TLC.

I found a flare nut that fit the bill.

After a good soaking in Teak oil and setting an 18mm synthetic knot ... it looks much nicer.

Thank you, I hate to see a nice handle go to waste. :)

I come to realize the brush was a Barbershop shaving brush.

I hate the original tops on those, looks like an old chair foot!

Great way to improvise. I really like the look it gave the brush as well. Very nicely done.

I just looked back at the post when you showed the brush before restoration. Wow that turned out great!

Thank you; I have a tendency to be drawn to the sadder cases ... more of a challenge. :happy088:

That Erskine looked like it was definitely a challenge.

I normally wouldn't have bothered with it if it looked as original. I alway thought they had the personality of a chair leg or door knob. It gave me a challenge and now it's on it way to a new home and not in a landfill. :)

To be quite honest, I wasn't sure if it would self destruct when I was leveling the bottom or if the copper bottom would work out. That is why I took the steps I did.

You do a great job Enrico! You are very talented. Do you mind if I ask what you do with all of the brushes you restore?
