i finally got a chance to use my new Schick injector. I'm very impressed with the closeness it gave but there certainly is a learning curve. Going from a run of the mill mild 3 piece DE to this one is like night and day. I feel like it was an extremely aggressive razor that will take some getting use to but I did enjoy something different. I have a X3 super speed and a black tip on the way within the next week so I'm looking forward to those next!
In more than four decades of production Schick only produced one razor that most would consider aggressive, the E2. Schick marketed their razors from the 50s on as shower shavers. If it's not an E2 it's likely you need to adjust your technique (no pressure) and angle. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Keep at it. When you find the right way to shave with an injector, you'll wonder how you ever got along without one!
Its Very Common for New Folks to Run a Blade Across the Stops when Injecting a Blade..It Take Some Care Not To..This is the Culprit More Often than Not when I Hear a Story like this.. Billy..
It took me a couple of shaves with injectors to get it right. Most of the time I have the head flat on my face, but certain places it needs to be used with it slightly off the head at a different angle.
Billy, My family descends from Scotland, and I get a kick out of your Scotticisms every single time. For the uninitiated (Oh yes, just now!):
Im sure it will take a couple times to get the angle down and such but im still very happy with it overall!
Standard practice is to insert a second blade after the first if it came empty. I have some old ones I recycle in a magazine to "burn" as the first blade for those occasions.
Have you determined which Schick you now possess? (Handy link to a GUIDE) Roedd fy hynafiaid yn Gymry, nid oes gennyf unrhyw syniad sut i siarad yr iaith y Fam fy nhadau nhad. Google translate sure can mangle a sentence...
That's the spirit! Schick injectors are great aggressive safety razors. Master it and you'll be very happy. Good luck!
