    Welcome aboard! Practice with your grandfather's Tech until it's automatic perfection. Those mild Gillettes are excellent shaves when the angle is right, and you'll have the ability to shave with any DE you like after that. Good luck!

    And just FYI...the Van Der Hagen razor is a Weishi 9306, which is a clone of a Gillette Super Speed. You have nice tools.

    I'm getting the hang of it, now getting a far better shave than when I started and especially beyond words better than before I started DE shaving.

    I wasn't certain what the make of the van der hagen was being as it was rather cheap comparatively but it has been good to me sk far so in have no complaints!
