So I got the razor in the mail today. It looks great! So I want t get myself a decent Strop. I have a very cheap one currently. I will use it a few times while getting used to this razor. Can someone recommend a good strop to me? Seems I saw someone on the forum that makes them?

Also, if anyone has some good tips for keeping this razor in this condition I would appreciate it. Like, how often should I get it honed?

I think @Drygulch is the guy you’re thinking of for strops :)
The other place I’ve heard of for learning is whippeddog.com (just read that you had a cheap one, so you can ignore the second part) haha.

Well Thanks for the reminder about Drygulch @Pilotcld! I ended up purchasing a Roo Leather Strop from him. Got in today. It looks great! Look forward to trying it out.

So I have 3 shaves in with this razor and they went better thanI could have hoped for. I enjoy the size and weight of this razor much more than the small Rattler I had been learning on! Will probably break it out again this weekend.

I ended up purchasing a Dubl Duck Satin Edge yesterday from EBay and had it sent directly to Glen to work his magic on for me.

That’s awesome!! I’m glad I could be of help! He taught me about getting Neatsfoot oil for restoring my great-grandpa’s strip that I inherited! It worked out wonderfully!!
Also, can’t go wrong with DublDuck in my experience (which is very limited experience). I also inherited his DublDuck Pearl Duck I love it.
