New Avon finds

I found 4 new OS Avon AS see below:

1. Boat with Wild Country, unopened in original box - $1.00 @ garage sale.

2. Sterling Six car with Spicy, unopened in original box - $1.00 @ garage sale.

3. Beer Tap with Wild Country, unopened - $3.21 @ Ebay.

4. Capitol with Leather, unopened - $1.79 @ Ebay.

 

Good haul, great prices!
The only one I haven't tried is Spicy. Is it like Old Spice?

 

Spicy is Avons version of Old Spice. But not really. Avon Spicy is slightly different, in a good way.
Shulton Old Spice, and Avon Spicy are my two favorites. GET SOME.

 

I've got both Shulton and P&G Old Spice. Watching for the Avon now!

 

Ive got some great deals for avon items off ebay, but what i really want to try is the island lime. It is certainly rarer. It is supposed to be FANTASTIC!

 

I actively seek Avon at antique and thrift stores. Island Lime hasn't presented its self yet. I'm thinking the guys who were gifted this AS liked & used it.

 

I have over 35 bottles, cars, trucks, and others, the best place to find these are at garage sales. One guy sold a box of about 30 bottles for $2.00, most were full of AS, some lady's scents that I passed along to others. The most I paid for one off Ebay was $4.00, shipped. I'll keep looking at garage sales to get the most bang for my buck.

 

Sometimes you just have to look at people selling bundled lots, especially on Ebay auction. Got these nine in boxes, all full of either after shave or cologne, $26.00 shipped.

 

Came across an antique shop that I hadn't noticed before. Nice place...picked up some vintage blue ink for fountain pens...they had a few shaving items but nothing earth shattering. Then came across this...



Ah, the Avon Viking Horn. Full, for once, and only $2. Probably Leather, usually is.





50+ years old, a bit faded but very, very nice. One of my favorite Avons.

 

Sweet...I've never seen the beer tap myself. Nice find! That'd put a smile on anybody's face. Gonna replace the wild country with barley soda?

 

That's just neat. I've never scoured an antique shop for fountain pen ink lol. That must make for some appreciated finds!

 

It was something I've liked to have but never found when looking for it. Then when I'm not looking, there it is.

 

So many times though I'll run across things like that, reach into my pocket and pull out eight cents lol. But Tha s the fun of the hunt!

 

This thread reminds me. I just ran out of one of my Avon Spicy bottles. Time for me to start looking.
