beautiful work, Jim. How will you attach the head to the handle? Just a press fit?

It is a press fit, but I will add a drop of glue for extra strength.

Wonder what kind of plastic that was, and whether heat, moisture, age or all three made it shrivel up. Almost looks like it was a very hard rubber.

I was once told the cream colored ones are celluloid.

I am not sure exactly what that handle was made of. I had a Schick with a faux bone handle that I got off eBay. When I got it, I started to clean it, and the handle just crumbled in my hand. This one was similar in the way it just crumbled.

Celluloid? Ooh, that means I need to get ahold of one, light it on fire and run about 10 feet away.

The handle on the E type was made of Catalin, I believe. The G type used something different.

My butterscotch E2 is holding up with no sign of wear or damage. I assume it's bakelite, I can polish it until it fairly gleams.

Just keep alcohol away from bakelite; really bad for finish. Remember that when you have that brush or razor around AS.

    That is incredibly nice looking!
I think it looks rich- better than the original design.

    Excellent work.

    Hi all, good evening.
Today the Schick Injector arrived safely at my home. It looks fantastic. Jim, you do awesome work. I was unable to shave with it at the time I first looked at it, but just about fifteen minutes ago I did. I must say, it was a very good shave. I never had much good luck with my old E-Type Schick, but this one is an excellent shaver. I think the collective consensus was that this razor is a G-Type. Whatever the differences are I don't know, but this G-Type is great! And the new custom handle on it looks, and feels wonderful too. I can't thank you enough, Jim. And the gold color really stands out from the cleaning and polish as well. Thanks for restoring this old Injector Jim. Here is a photo of it in my SOTD.

I am glad to have restored that old razor. I am tickled that it shaves as well as you say. Yes, generally, the Gs are great shavers.
