My son just returned from 8 weeks in Germany and Austria (with a couple of side trips to Budapest and Prague). While in Austria, he purchased this little DE razor at a rummage sale and gave it to me this morning. I can find no markings on it. I have not shaved with it yet since Fridays are my day off from shaving.

Has anyone seen one like this?

It is pretty lightweight and gives me a sense of either alloy or perhaps aluminum.

It looks like a Yuma razor. I'm not positive. But that's what it look like to me.

Yeah, most similar to the Merkur but the head is a little different. Do the Merkurs all have markings on the them anywhere?

I've seen them on the bottom of the handles.

I just popped a new Derby Extra blade in, lathered up with Dusy Kabinett and had a very nice, mild 2 pass shave with outstanding results. Derby blades are not always the smoothest for me, but seemed very smooth in this Merkurish razor. Felt much like a Tech as far as mildness, but the blade did a great job of removing 2 days stubble and I had absolutely zero feedback from the aftershave. I'll use the razor this week. More importantly than what it is, is the fact that my son carried it home from Europe and gave it to me. Amidst his amazing summer, he thought of dear old dad. BTW, while he was there, he used a Gillette Travel Tech that I gave him a couple of years ago - he is a confirmed DE shaver - and used an Omega badger brush and Body Shop Maca Root cream.

The Long Feng handle is hollow and made of zink alloy, the Merkur is solid and brass. They just look similar.
