New Red Tip

I just acquired a new '59 Gillette Super Speed Flare Red Tip. I shaved with it this morning and had a great first outing. I was also using my first Rapira Swedish SuperSteel blade. Close, smooth, nick and burn free.

Good start with this pair.

I enjoyed my Gillette RedTip. It was one of my more 'aggressive' vintage Gillettes.
When I first go back into wet-shaving, it bit me a few times as I tried to 'perfect' my technique. I liked both the weight and the knurling of the handle.
Nice razor. I sold it to a fellow TSD member a while back during a razor purge.

 

Very Nice Red Tip! Of all the razors I have the Red Tip is my favorite. I get a perfect shave almost every time I use it. Never lets me down.

 

I really need to find me a super speed! Don't want to feel left out next time we have "Super Speed Week"

 

My 2nd shave was even better. I have a better "feel" for it now.

How do you like the Rapira? It's one blade I don't hear much about.

 

I just had a good 3rd shave with it. So far, I would give the edge to the Voskhod, but it is close?

 

I would highly recommend the Red Tip—it was my favorite of all the Gillette SS razors I owned.

 

Used my '55 Red Tip this morning loaded with a Wilkinson blade - darn near BBS.

Great razor.

 

Wow. I'm no expert. That's a great looking red tip! I really like my red tip. Gillette did razors right back in the day.
