    A question for the panel...

Is a Gem 1912 considered an Open Comb for purposes of OCtober? I've got one coming and was just wondering.

Well, I won't be able to contribute for October. I sold my GEM MMOC the other day after several rough shaves. So I am without an open comb at the moment. I have an open comb DE but I've loaned it out for extended loan to another member. I really enjoyed the September discussion and wish you guys fun in the October version.

Some of the Damaskeene razors are true Open Comb. All of the 1912s I have seen were closed comb. Perhaps @Billyfergie can chime in.

Thanks for the clarification. I'll probably still have a shave or two with it when it arrives (since I have no patience). The rest of the month will be the OT or the Goodwill unless I get brave enough to try the Cadet again.

So if 12 OCs acquired is a small RAD, I hate to understand what a full on RAD looks like

I will be using modern and vintage OC razors. Modern razors like Timeless, Wolfman, and iKon OCs. Vintage razors like the Gillette Aristocrat, and New OCs.

I think I am a good example of full on RAD, or at least close to full on RAD. I bought my first DE razor when I made the switch from carts in late February of this year. At this time (the end of September) I have over 100 razors, both modern and vintage, including around 30 SEs and Injectors. I freely admit to being crazy, but I am probably not even the worst example of full on RAD ever.

Oh, and I still have a wishlist of razors that I don't own... Yet...
