This is my line up for OCtober, British Aristocrat, New Standard, 30's old type, Schick C1, Valet VC1, and the Timeless OC. Here's the boys in the dugout ready to get to bat. It's gonna be HUGE!
OCTober 1 shave 1887 Kampfe Bros. Star Lather Catcher Kampfe Bros wedge blade Whipped Dog 24mm synthetic brush Chiseled Face Groomatorium Ghost Town Barber soap & aftershave I kicked off OCtober with the oldest razor in my collection, the 1887 Star LC. At 139 years it's still a great razor. These razors are quite aggressive and a light touch coupled with a really shallow angle is required. The setscrews allow the user to compensate for blade wear. The blades are designed to be honed and stropped just like a straight razor, and they get narrower with repeated honing. However, the setscrews have the added benefit of essentially making the razor adjustable. There are no blade stops, so the edge may be positioned wherever desired - the closer to the end of the comb, the more aggressive. I have the blade set well back and it is still pretty aggressive. I touched up the blade on a CrOx pasted strop before stropping in the usual manner, and was rewarded with a near BBS shave with no irritation or weepers. --Bob
Thanks Clint! Not only is it a nice looking razor but it is a majorly fantastic shaver. It's one of the razors that I will never get tired of.
October 2, 2016 Wolfman WR-01 OC with Triad SS Feather (2) Rubberset 400 #3 with WSP HMW Nuavia Blu Witch Hazel A very close, smooth and relaxing shave this morning. The Nuavia Blu is very easy to lather with a complex scent that lingers long after the shave. Three passes with minimal touch ups ended in a near BBS shave. Off to visit my Mom for the day. I hope everyone has a great Sunday.

I was gonna skip shaving last night so I could try out my new Old Type on two days' growth (I've light whiskers for the most part), but getting that Eversharp yesterday...the temptation was too great. I'll try it tonight with a Voskhod on its second shave.
Spidey's post above reminded me that I have a second OC razor to use this month. Can't believe I forgot about my treasured Bunny...... OCtober 2 SOTD Bunny OC razor Restored Simms brush Mikes Bay Rum shaving soap Homemade Bay Rum AS Stingray Bay Bay Rum fragrance
Today I used the FaTip Grande. It is a mean little razor that always gives a super close shave. But it needs a light touch and lots if concentration. If guys love aggressive, this ones up there.
I started OCtober with my 30's old type. I've had this razor for several years but haven't used it much. Anyway with a Polsilver blade and a light touch it left me BBS after two passes.
1921 Bostonian Brush by James Ortega Voskhod blades Jeeves of Hudson Street Cherry Blossom by Bryon Postlethwait Avon Ă–land (1976) for the finish.
Shave for OCtober 2, 2016 1901 Kampfe Bros. Star Lather Catcher Kampfe Bros. wedge blade (freshly honed) Whipped Dog 24mm synthetic brush Stirling Electric Sheep soap Pinaud Clubman aftershave For my second OCtober shave I moved up to the 1901 Star. This is very similar to the much more common 1902 model except that it has adjustable blade side guides and of course different patent markings. This particular one is in excellent condition and the litho tin is in really outstanding condition - the ravages of time are usually not kind to the paint job. Using a blade I honed last night I enjoyed an exceptionally smooth and comfortable shave. This model is less aggressive than the 1887 that was yesterday's shave. --Bob
