The ASR Ever Ready Lather Catchers were 1906-14 production. Nice score.

Any thoughts on what it might be worth?

Search Ever Ready Lather Catcher on eBay. They are not rare.

Thanks for the thoughts, I really don't care what it's worth just curious. It's an oddity and I love it even if it was worth $5!

That is pretty funny. I really like those old advertisements. No PC world back then for sure!

Anyone know what the purpose of the unique handle is on this type of razor?

I believe there was a stropping attachment that fit in the base of the handle.

Lather catchers are great shavers. I have 3 now one is a newer model of yours. Gem also made handles like that. Comfortable to shave with. There is a SE thread here that had several people that know a lot about these things. You have a great friend to give you one of those.

Correct. My 1911 Gem has the attachment for stropping.

I figured you would find an SE thread pretty quickly and correct me if I was wrong. :)

I never had one of these, but I did have a Gem Junior Bar with the little black handle.

Is there a noticeable difference in the shave between the two or are they pretty similar?

I have a 1910 junior bar and the 1911 that does not have the bar. They are both great razors. Not a lot of difference in the shave. I think the Junior bar is the better of the two though. I recently picked up a 1912-14 ER lather catcher. I have not shaved with that one yet.

The lather catcher is the razor I want. It may be the last razor I add to my collection. Yeah, right.

I have the ER little lather catcher. It is a nice shaver. I just want the 1910 or 11.
