So I got to wondering... who uses the oldest razor for daily use. I mean even if once a month or so. Maybe I should say regular use. As some may have heard I use a Gem or Superior lather catcher from around 1910 the most. Let's hear about your oldest regular use razor. I am guessing that some of the straights are the oldest. Let's see. Fuzzy
Well I would say my oldest regular shaver is my 1934 Aristocrat. I have used a 1912 Gem (I don't what years these were made) and oldtype from 1908.
I have a 1912 Gem. I just received an Old Type (don't know the year) but I haven't used it yet... Beautiful! What is a Bulldog? That's the spirit! :happy088
Fuzzy, How about a '05 Gillette Old Style with Double Ring Handle and a '07 GEM Jr Lather Catcher with wooden handle. Both great shavers.
Sweettttt,, I want one of both those .. something about the older open combs seem to appeal to SE guys. I have remarked on this before. Fuzzy
This is the oldest I have that I use regularly. It's a Joseph Rodgers 1840/1850 and is a fine shaving razor. That is a cool looking safety razor, that comfort.
very nice, is that the original plating? it's very beautiful. Oh, and my oldest razor is a NEW from the 30's.
My that's nice...Is it a full wedge? I like the small shoulders on that. I've been looking at the Bismarck style blades lately; I like the look of them. My oldest is a Kropp straight, which must be a good 100 years old...
