As you can see, I love open comb TTOs.

I also have a Popular which I forgot to put in the group.
The small case contains a Feather portable razor with a head similar to a Gillette long comb.

The box is rough on this one, but the razor is pristine.

    Which is your favorite?

Well, I'm not good at narrowing down to one favorite.

At home, I shave with the UK & US Aristocrats. The UK version is a little less aggressive & works best with a Feather blade. The US one seems to work well with any good quality blade.

I usually take the Sheraton with me on trips. The case fits nicely in one compartment in my bath bag.

That's pure razor porn you got there. My face is feeling randy just looking at it! ha!

We are OC brothers! That's all I use too between my Brit No.15, Senator, single ring and Adams Germany. I've a Sheraton and a '34 US Aristocrat too but I don't use them because of the gold plating.. it just wears too easily and I want it to be around for a long time. I've a 1927/28 New Standard where the gold is gone on the cap. I'm trying my best to find someone to replate it in black nickel.

    Hey, thanks!

Have been checking the pics that you post of your stuff.

You have some great & rare pieces, for sure.

My US A'crat is pretty clean, but not minty enough that I need to worry about wearing of the plating.

Consequently, it's the one I tend to use the most.

Sent you a PM about black plating.

Got it. Thanks. They are referring to Reliable Electroplating in Massachusetts. I guess I am going to have to call them on the phone because I've filled out their web site quote request form 3 times in the last year and they've yet to reply by email or phone to me.

Yeah, the BritCrat is probably the best looking razor ever made - at least, I've never seen anything that looks better to me.

There was an seller on UK ebay (some kind of charity shop) that listed a bunch of them in a row. They were expensive, but less than what they are going for now, just a few months later. I'm glad I snagged mine when I did.

The one in the leather case. I got for a pretty reasonable price - about 80 pounds, if I remember correctly. Either it got under the radar, or the rough condition of the case put buyers off. Anyway, I'm glad I jumped on that one because the razor itself is like new.

It's a good shaver, not as aggressive as the US version. It works best when I load it with a Feather.

Very nice. I'd love to have some open comb TTO razors. My only OC razors are a Gillette Old and a German Bakelite OC slant.

Keep an eye out for a Sheraton.

They are not too terribly expensive on ebay.

Just make sure the teeth are all straight.

Bent teeth can be tapped back into place, but it's a tricky operation with no guarantee of success...

Yeah, I cracked a tooth on a Gillette Old, trying to straighten it. I've thought about silver soldering it. I'd never sell it, I just want to use it without breaking it off. I thought about getting it replated. First, I'd need to fix the cracked handle. Or maybe I'd get it replated first, and then epoxy the crack. Whichever is best.
