I realized today that I use way more pressure than is required while loading the brush. I was using trumpers lime, and was pressing so hard that the brush was fanning out over the edges of the bowl. For some reason this time, I said "why the heck am I doing this?". I eased up on the pressure, the bristles stayed inside the bowl, and I had a heckuva lot less mess. Someone please tell me i'm not the only person that has done this. Please help me to feel less stupid, lol.
Umm....ive done some weird things in my time...but never mashed a brush into soap. Your on your own on that one
I have done it, and still do it to a point. Sometimes more than others.. but it never really concerned me. Lather should be shared.. the hands need love too! :rofl Though I have eased off since I started.. it used to be much worse.
It's the dumbest thing ever. I was mashing the heck out of that stuff. Even worse is that all along, i'm thinking "why can't these idiots at trumper make a large enough bowl." Then came the moment of enlightenment, where I realized that if I pressed a little less, my brush needed less room. I'm still shakin my head on this one guys.
This is a very good point. It can only benefit, to get out of that beaten path some of us veterans may have. We use the same soaps, in the same techniques, making the same passes. We get accustomed to the routine, and that's a bad thing if the routine is bad.
Well.....I, um. Let me preface this post by saying I like to lather on my face when using soaps........ Using a damp brush, I like to get as much soap as possible into the breech. Usually I take the puck into my hand and load the brush there; same basic technique when using soaps in a bowl / container. The residual "mess", which is never that much, I use as a prelather and rub it in with my fingers. When building lather in a bowl (using creams) I would agree with ya, Sparky. My more flexible brushes work better when the product is at the tips.
