Picked up this Valet AutoStrop and 1914 Ever-Ready for $12, I know there are fans of both on here. I didn't need another 1914 but I just couldn't pass it up when I saw the instruction sheet. Amazing how good a shape it's in, considering it's age. The razor is in excellent shape as are the blade holders but the case is a bit rough.
Wow... good snag for the 1914 and a VAS taboot~! I would certainly take that 1914 off your hands for that price!
Tom, excellent find. Could you scan the instruction set so we can keep a clear copy available on line?
Tom. here's a link to the instructions thread, for when you get it scanned. Thank you for doing that. http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/razor-instructions.8232/
Tom you killin' me....You are one lucky cat, when it comes to finding pretty razors at great prices... I want you with me when I make the Flea-market scene...lol
I give the edge to the Damaskeene by just the teensiest of margins because it's just a tad easier to load. As to the actual shave they're pretty much tied. The 1914's are fantastic razors.
Oh you know, here and there... Picked this up today, and , while it's not the right case for the razor I couldn't pass it up for $2. For obvious reasons.
All three are very nice. Those instructions are in amazing condition for the age. Just the Super Speed case, not even counting the razor, is worth more than that price. I can't see the sides of the razor very clearly. Is that a Ranger or early SS?
For 2 bucks? Very nice score considering the Personna 74 blades sell for that much and more per blade on eBay.
