    That is a circa 1890 - 1900 Ever-Ready. Worth every penny IMHO.

yep, i was watching it the whole way. once i saw it shoot to 140, i knew if i bid to win my fiancee would have my head on a platter, so i opted out.

edit: reasoning: normally she dosent care, but i dropped coin last night on a rolex submariner.....out of our moving-out-of-state/emergency fund/savings account.

Is that razor similar to the Kampfe razor of that time?

Cyberpunk author William Gibson always works watches into his writings. I think he may suffer from WAD.

sort of, except ER razors NEVER took wedge blades. the one in this auction is one of the first ER razors, around 1903 i think.

Really early Kampes took wedges 1870 - 1900, the ones around 1900 started with SEs.

Dave, I'm really disappointed in your show of weakness. You know that watch won't tell you the time any better than one at 1/20th the cost, but that razor would have given you untold joy on so many mornings! How could you have caved in to the temptation of a pretty watch.

You have completely ruined my admiration of your judgement.

    Regards,
    Tom
