I acquired two tubs of QED soap in a swap, an Orange and a Wild Rose. This stuff is fantastic! No need to soften it first like some other soaps. Just about 10 or 12 swirls with a brush full of hot water and I get mountains of lather, enough for my usual 2-pass shaves with plenty left over. It provides a very good cushion of lubrication and it smells fantastic. Great stuff.
+1 QED soaps are wonderful. While I wasn't partial to the scent of the Wild Oranges soap (I ended up trading it) I do have other QED scents (including just about every bath soap he makes) and all of them: Sandalwood Fresh Limes (TOP) special Bay Rum Patchouli/Tea Tree/Peppermint Are great. I still need to get: Tangerine and Spearmint Peppermint Pine and Cedarwood Anise & Lavender Lemon & Cedarwood
Yes the QED soaps are wonderful, I particulary like the latherability.. Great Stuff!! I have: Bay Rum, Espresso, Frankinsence/Myrrh, Bergamot, Anis/Lavender.. Like them all.. But the BayRum and Bergamot are real Winners!
I have several as well -- B&B, Sandalwood, Special 218, P/P/T. The juniper berry EO one is also quite good!
I like them too... I have B&B, Frankincense and Myrrh, Sandalwood, Wild Rose, Fresh Lime and Grapefuit and Peppermint. So far my faves are: Wild Rose Frankincense and Myrrh Sandalwood In this order What is the scent like on the 218? I want to try the Bay Rum too, is it clovey? Thanks
I was lucky enough to get some of the Wild Rose from a TOP member a while back. Awesome stuff. I need to order a coupla more varieties.
Add me to the list of QED-shave soap fans :happy088 Charles makes an excellent soap, and the soap makes a superb lather. All the varieties I have tried have been excellent, but I have a penchant for these: 1- sandalwood 2- bay rum 3- fresh lime I am looking to try the mocha java and espresso sticks next
It's kind of hard to describe. However, I know that B&B is the mixing of QED's Special 218 with QED's Sandalwood. So, most of the stuff you smell that isn't sandalwood in B&B is coming fromm the blend with 218.
Don't forget to try the QED Vetiver - if you like that kind of thing. Its one of my all-around favorites. Jordan
I love the Pine and Cedarwood scent. Too bad it burned my face. I also have Bay Rum patachouli, tea tree and peppermint rose geranium great soaps
I have the QED Rose Geranium. It smells blissful and creates mounds of rich, slick lather which lasts for 3-4 passes. Wild Rose is on the way and QED Vetiver is next on my list. I dig Vetiver scents and was wondering if the Vetiver scent is strong in the QED shave soap.
Charles at QED uses only Essential oils and LOTS of em. The scent is VERY strong and is a good representation of authentic vetiver. Salters Cream and TSD's offerings are also very good, "real" smelling vetivers.
Hey, no problem Buy one of my pipes and Ill send you samples of all 3 .....plus some of my home made vetiver combos
