Is a Gold Aristocrat the same as a Gold Slim? I saw one in an antique store. I thought an Aristocrat was a bit more hefty than the Slim. So I was wondering if it was just paired up with the wrong box.
I think you are probably right in thought about the Aristocrat. you might look at this link. http://www.razorarchive.com/the-history-and-evolution-of-the-us-gillette-aristocrat
yeah, I think ur right on this one. thanks for the link. I should have taken a picture to confirm this. It was just a mis-matched razor to box. too expensive also
The last true Aristocrat came out 1951. These were fixed head. 10 years later, the name "Aristocrat" was used to describe a gold plated slim that had an adjustable head and came in a nice rectangular box.
1934 U.S. Aristocrat 1936 U.S. Aristocrat 1947 U.S. Aristocrat 1967 Aristocrat ... and that is not covering the British Aristocrat Series.
In the Depression that was a lot of money. Most people were buying $1 Goodwills if they could afford a razor at all. Tough times.
I don't know about that..I was pretty depressed that year when I discovered my local record store had completely sold out of the Beatle's new "Sgt. Peppers" album before I could buy one!
