If anyone else is like me, there are times when I want a quick shave – not my usual routine of safety razors. Just wondering what other peoples go-to razors are when they want a quick shave. I have occasionally used one of Harry's cartridges, but am looking for other options.
Can't help you there. If I don't have time to enjoy my shave my way, I don't shave. That means taking my time. I set my alarm clock so I can get up with time for me. I hate to rush. But that's me.
I agree I do not like to rush my real shaves. Before I retired on the rare occasion I overslept or ran late due to unforeseen circumstamces ,I kept a Braun electric razor in my desk. I then shaved when I got to work. I very rarely used it but it did save my bacon a few times over the years.
If I'm running late, I'm already late. I'll just shave. So I'm 45 minutes late instead of 30. I'm seldom, nay, rarely running late.
I take more time on the weekends generally, but workday shaves go fairly quickly. I go for one WTG pass with a little touch-up. My Schick G1 injector is my daily razor now. It provides close shaves for me. I get a closer shave with it than with any of my DE razors.
Wet shaving can take the same amount of time as regular shaving once you get used to it. I like to take my time, but still only takes a few minutes. It is all about enjoying your shave, the scent, the ritual, etc.
That is why I shave at night. It is a relaxing wind down for me, every day. Of course I work construction, so it really doesn't matter if I shave or not, mostly. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
One pass instead of three is as quick as I'll go. After one pass I'm presentable just not as smooth as 3 would get me
Wet my face Face lather with a shave cream like TOBS or proraso. Quick three pass shave with a super speed and a splash of AS. It only takes a couple minutes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Use my Gillette Blue Tip with any blade. Face lather with SC and out the door I go. Been busier than hell ever since I retired and I still shave everyday. Dave
If I need a quick shave I use either a 2011 Mühle R41 or Cobra. The R41 can get me there in one less pass and the wide head of the Cobra means fewer strokes.
I shave at night, so I'm not in a hurry. Quick shaves with a DE razor(Fatboy) is a recipe for a bloodletting.
I've got my DE shave routine down to 12 minutes. That includes whipping up a lather with my shave soap, cleanup and putting everything back. That's a 2 pass shave. I think I spent 10 minutes shaving when I was using cartridges. For me, there is no time difference to speak of. I'm a creature of habit.
I use the same time shaving, no matter what razor I use. A cartridge takes the same time for me. It's the prep and making of lather that takes time. If I need a quicker shave I do one or two passes WTG with a chosen razor using brushless gel after a shower. That gives a good passable shave.
