Does anyone have experience with rabbit hair shaving brushes? I have a good handle on boar and badger. I hear that horse is between, with high risk of knots. But never heard of rabbit....

No doubt that in all the years brushes have been around, it has been tried. That said, if it had been any good, we'd still see 'em around in a more prominant role today.

I've heard of beaver hair on shave brushes, but not rabbit.

Rabbits have fur as opposed to hair. I can't imagine it being any use once wet.

Thank you. Thank you very much.
You might as well use cat hair. HA!

No bunny fur brush love that I know of.
Seen photos of goat hair brushes. They were made with a very short loft to compensate for the softness of the fibers.

I ended up receiving one as part of a vintage lot purchase. Was obviously more interested in the razors than the brush.

Feels like boar. Looks like dyed boar. I'm going to assume that the person selling didn't actually know what they were selling.

I never had a rabbit hair brush. Instead, I grabbed a cottontail that was raiding the garden, soaked him in the sink for a few minutes, and then swirled his bum on the soap. After ol' bunzer raised a good lather, I used him to apply the lather to my face. Using a painting motion, of course, as a swirling motion could get his tail out of joint. A great shave and a great way to lather soap. It did leave my face smelling vaguely of rabbit a##, but a little aftershave took care of that. It worked so well that I am thinking of getting a squirrel for use as a travel brush.

Chipmunks make a prettier brush. Just my opinion.

Only if you use tomato juice as an aftershave.

What about a groundhog? I could picture punxsutawny Phil in a brush. If he sees a shadow, it means you have 6 more minutes of shaving.

Although, this would explain how shave brushes tend to multiply mysteriously and exponentially. :scared011:

    Why a squirrel?

Because squirrels are smaller than rabbits and less scritchy than hedgehogs. Foamy the Squirrel should work well.
